At CKL Africa Ltd, we actively create, nurture and maintain new and existing relationships and partnerships through our participation in associations, membership affiliations, being Signatories to the UN Global Compact and submission of COP Reports and community empowerment through our Eco Care Programme. Through the programme, we have propagated and successfully distributed 1,717,113 tree seedlings across Kenya.
Here are examples of our engagement with our communities through close collaboration with some of our partners:
There are 1,102,701 surviving trees grown through close collaboration with CKL Africa Ltd and the Moi Air Base (MAB) Environmental Soldier Programme and other partners. Approximately 30 per cent of CKL donated tree seedlings are growing in Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Embu, Narok, Wajir, Mombasa, Nyandarua, Kajiado and Murang’a Counties.
In 2020, we held joint tree planting initiatives at Don Bosco Technical Institute, Kangemi Primary School, Ihindu Primary School, Munyu High School and Moi Air Base grounds. Our Eco Care Programme participated in a joint monitoring and evaluation exercise on past tree planting sessions at Don Bosco Town Technical Institute in Karen, New & Old Kihumbuini Primary Schools, Kangemi Primary School, Kabete Friends Church in Nairobi County and Munyu High School in Nakuru County;
In 2019, we donated 700 seedlings to Olturoto Children’s Village and the surrounding area in Isinya, Kajiado County. 400 assorted seedlings were also donated to Don Bosco Boys and 250 assorted seedlings were donated to Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM, Buruburu).
In 2019, CKL also provided tree seedlings to the following partners: Kenya Air-Force, Miti Alliance Ltd, National Gun Owners Association of Kenya (NGAO Kenya), Nairobi Rotary Club, Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), Henry Wanyoike Foundation, Kenya Administration Police, Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority(TARDA), Don Bosco Technical Institute, Kiriri Women’s University, Ministry of Interior-Kitisuru location, Murang’a Teacher’s College, Utumishi Sacco School-Kajiado, Our Lady of Visitation Church-Makadara, Kamae ACK Church-Kiambu, vulnerable communities of Kakuma in North Turkana, Thika High School and Teresiah House of Hope, Kiambu county.
