Grenade is an emulsifiable concentrate ectoparasiticide dip & spray for the control of ectoparasites on livestock. It is a clear, yellow liquid containing 5% w/v Cyhalothrin.

Dosage and administration

Grenade EC 5% must be diluted with water before use and may be used in dips, spray races, hand sprayers and other spray devices. The capacity of all dip tanks, pumps and sprayers should be accurately calibrated.

Grenade EC 5% must be thoroughly mixed with the water in the dip tank, or spray sump, each time it is added. The dip must be thoroughly mixed after any break in dipping or spraying. This may be achieved in large tanks by dipping 20 animals which must then be re-dipped.The recommended dilution rates are as follows:

1. Dip tanks and/or Spray races:For control of Ticks, Flies and Lice in Cattle

  • Initial dilution: 1L of Grenade diluted in 1,000L of water.
  • Replenishment: 1L of Grenade diluted in 700L of water.

For control of Lice and Keds in Sheep

  • Initial dilution: 1L of Grenade diluted in 1,000L of water.
  • Replenishment: 1L of Grenade diluted in 700L of water.

For control of Lice in Goats

  • Initial dilution: 1L of Grenade diluted in 1,000L of water
  • Replenishment: 1L of Grenade diluted in 700L of water.

2. Handsprayers and other spray devices

  • For tick control add 20 ml Grenade EC 5% to 20 litres of water. For good control saturate the coat using 5-10 litres of the wash depending on the size of the animal. Spray all over the animal: head, neck, body, legs and tail.
  • For fly control in the absence of ticks add 200ml Grenade EC 5% to 20L of water and mix well. Spray at the rate of 250-500ml per animal.
  • For lice control, add 100ml of Grenade EC 5% to 20 litres of water and mix well. Spray at the rate of 125-250ml per animal.
